School Smart: Finding Creative Cleaning Solutions

Hi. I’m Rosemary and I’m in charge of cleaning services for a large university. It really is a challenge. From graffiti on walls to chemical spills in science labs, I ensure that anything unsightly is cleaned up quickly and safely. In the course of my job, I’ve learnt that choosing the correct cleaning service for a task is the key to efficiency. I employ a general services company to do everyday cleaning, however, we regularly hire specialist carpet cleaners and definitely use qualified services for problems like chemical spills. Lots of my family members and friends call me when they have particular cleaning problems in their businesses. I figure that the knowledge I’ve collected over the years could be helpful, so I’ve started this blog. Do let me know if it’s useful and may your surfaces always be bright!

4 Tips During DIY Deceased Estate Cleaning

by Phillip Clark

It can be hard to clean out the house of a loved one who has died recently. This article discusses some tips which can ease that process in case you decide to handle the task with the help of a few volunteers, such as friends and family members.

Keep the Number Small

Many people may offer to help during the process of cleaning out the house. However, you should avoid taking on very many people because it can be hard to manage that large number of volunteers. For example, you may find it easy to control four people as opposed to managing a group of twenty volunteers. You can find a way to rotate those different volunteers over the days when you will be cleaning out the house so that none of them feels left out during this activity.

Keep Them Working Together

Another important tip which you should keep in mind is that you should ensure that all the people you are working with stay in one room. Don't allow some people to go to work in a room which is different from the one in which the others are working. It will become impossible for you to maintain control over the cleaning process if you cannot see what everyone is doing at the same time.

Establish Leadership Structures

Decide who will be in charge of the cleaning operation. Otherwise, matters will degenerate into chaos if everyone is giving instructions regarding what should or shouldn't be done. Identify one person to be in charge and inform all others to defer to the opinion of that person when guidance is needed on anything during the cleaning process.

Set Rules and Goals

It helps to have rules and goals during the cleaning exercise. For example, you can say that you will handle one room each day. Such a goal can keep the work on track and result in quicker results as compared to working without deadlines. Rules will help to resolve any issues which may arise before they reach a level of paralysing the work being done. For instance, rules on when breaks for meals can be taken help to keep all people working at the same time to achieve more during any given day.

The task of cleaning out a deceased relative's house can be physically and emotionally draining. Hire a deceased estate cleaning company in case you become overwhelmed by the emotional or physical toll of this unavoidable activity.
